Natural Beaded Row Hair Extensions in Rolling Meadows, IL
Natural Beaded Row hair extensions are the method we reach for when a client wants length and density without the daily fuss of tape-ins or the breakage stories that come with poorly placed wefts. At Eleven11 Hair Studio in Rolling Meadows, this is our flagship extension service, built around custom-colored hand-tied wefts attached to a beaded row foundation that sits flat against the scalp. The result reads as your own hair, even to people who know you well.
This service is best for clients who want a finished look that holds up through Midwest weather, who can commit to a maintenance appointment every six to eight weeks, and who want a stylist who treats placement as a craft rather than a checklist. If you have been frustrated by extensions that slip, show, or damage your hair, this is the conversation worth having.
Why clients choose this at Eleven11 Hair Studio
Custom color match before the install. We color the wefts to your exact tone before they touch your head. Pre-bonded packs from a shelf rarely match real hair, especially lived-in balayage or dimensional blonde. Coloring the hair separately means the wefts blend through every layer, not just at the surface.
Placement built around your head shape. Most extension failures happen because rows get placed in a straight line across the back of the head rather than following the natural curve of the skull. We map placement to your head shape and density, which is the philosophy behind our bead method. Done correctly, the rows disappear under your own hair and the weight distributes evenly so nothing pulls.
Thirty years of craft behind every install. Yvette has been working with hair for over three decades, and the standards she set for this studio when she opened it in 2019 still run every appointment. You are not getting a stylist who took a weekend certification course. You are getting a colorist and extension artist who has corrected other salons' extension work for years.
What to expect
Your first appointment starts with a consultation, either in person or virtually before you book the install. We talk through what you want the finished hair to do, your daily routine, your workout schedule, whether you sleep on your hair wet, and how often you can realistically come in for moves. This is also where we look at your current hair density and condition and decide how many wefts you actually need. More is not better. The right amount is.
Once we have a plan, we order the hair and schedule the color session and the install. Color usually takes two to three hours depending on the level of dimension you want. The install itself runs another two to three hours and includes the bead foundation, the weft attachment, and a custom cut to blend everything into your existing hair. You leave with finished, styled hair that you can wash the next day.
Moves happen every six to eight weeks. A move appointment runs roughly one and a half to two hours and includes removing the wefts, repositioning the bead foundation as your hair grows out, and reattaching. The hair itself lasts six to twelve months with proper care before it needs to be replaced.
Pricing
Natural Beaded Row pricing reflects the hair, the color work, and the install time. The hair itself is a separate cost from the labor because you keep it and reuse it for as long as it holds up. Pricing starts at our standard hourly and adjusts based on length, density, and how many wefts your goal requires. Every quote is given after a consultation so you know exactly what you are committing to before any hair is ordered. We do not surprise clients at checkout.
FAQs
Will Natural Beaded Row extensions damage my hair? Not when installed and maintained correctly. The method distributes weight across a beaded foundation rather than concentrating tension on small sections, which is what causes the breakage you see from poorly done tape-ins or single-bead methods. The bigger risk to your hair is skipping maintenance appointments, which is why we are direct about the six to eight week schedule.
Can I work out, swim, and sleep normally? Yes. You can run, lift, do yoga, swim in chlorine or salt water, and sleep on your hair. We will walk you through how to braid or tie your hair before workouts and bed to extend the life of the wefts, and we recommend rinsing chlorine and salt out the same day. No special pillowcase required, though silk does help.
How long does the hair last? Six to twelve months for the wefts themselves, depending on how you care for them and how the texture wears. We use professional sulfate-free products and recommend the same for at-home use. Heat tools are fine as long as you use a heat protectant and stay under 350 degrees.
What if I have fine hair or a sensitive scalp? Fine hair is one of the most common reasons clients come to us for this method specifically. The hand-tied weft is lighter than machine-tied alternatives, and the beaded foundation can be sized smaller for finer hair. If you have a sensitive scalp, tell us during the consultation and we will adjust placement and tension accordingly.
